The Emotional Effect on Men who Have Impotence Problems
Men are tough right? That’s right; however, men who find that they have impotence problems suffer from a lot of emotional issues. We know, the term emotional shouldn’t apply to men, but it happens. It is an issue that you need to know about. Here are some of the things that you find that you might be facing and it might be helpful if you see a counselor as many other men suffering from this have done before.
Many men face the issue that they have low self-esteem. Here everyone tells you that you should be the one to crave for sex and you might be craving for it. However, every time you have trouble getting an erection, you might find yourself feeling as though you let your partner down. It’s quite common that men who have impotence problems often have problems with the relationship. It’s frustrating.
Other men might experience a form of anxiety. They might worry that their spouse will leave them because they can’t perform. When they do get an erection, they might wonder if they are good enough to satisfy their spouse. In time, they might find themselves withdrawing from their partners. This often times leads to a further problem of getting an erection as stress, fear, and anxiety can all be triggers as to why you cannot get and/or maintain erection.
Men often times start judging themselves to other men. As we know men sometimes sit around and talk about the action they got from their wives. Don’t think females don’t know about that. Men might find that they start comparing their relationships to that of those they are close to. It might even boil down to the idea that they find themselves to be failure. This is all quite common to feel. As men, they feel they have to be dominant in bed and therefore, when they can’t get an erection, they might feel that they have failed at satisfying the sexual craving that their partner might have.
It’s helpful to talk about these issues. Counselors have found that it’s even healthier not only for the man to talk, but for the spouse to be present as well. The spouse needs to be there to support the man through what he is going through. If you find that you are feeling all that, you might want to talk to someone as depression is often associated with men who have impotence problems.
